Responsibilities
- Design, build and operate large-scale event streaming infrastructure.
- Improve reliability, scalability, observability, and automation of Kafka and EventBus.
- Debug complex distributed systems issues, including performance bottlenecks.
- Build infrastructure automation and self-healing capabilities.
- Contribute to incident response and operational readiness for Tier-0 infrastructure.
- Collaborate with various engineering teams across US and EU regions.
- Help shape the long-term architecture of Deliveroo’s event streaming platform.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience building or operating distributed systems in production.
- Experience with Kafka or similar event streaming systems.
- Strong coding ability in Java, Go, Python, or similar languages.
- Experience operating scalable production infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure automation and operational excellence.
- Good fundamentals in Linux, networking, and JVM-based systems.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
