Responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud and hybrid-cloud architectures for latency-sensitive trading workloads.
- Build and maintain systems that continuously monitor latency characteristics across distributed hybrid workloads.
- Develop orchestration tooling for provisioning cloud resources, networking configurations, and server-side processes.
- Build backend systems for collecting performance metrics and tools for querying that data.
- Collaborate with cloud engineers, software developers, Linux engineers, and network engineers to optimize performance end to end.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience working with Amazon Web Services, including deep knowledge of EC2, VPC, Direct Connect, IAM, networking, and compute services.
- Experience using Terraform to manage cloud infrastructure and compute and networking resources such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Cisco devices.
- Experience with network fundamentals including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, switching, HTTP, and major routing protocols.
- Strong understanding of Linux systems and the Linux network stack.
- Strong automation experience with Bash scripting and Python programming, ideally with orchestration through serverless cloud services.
- Experience working with modern AI coding agents and balancing rapid prototyping with critical review.
- Ability to implement systems with a security-first mindset and follow firm-wide security policies and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving, independent execution, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.
- Preferred: experience building data pipelines for structured data, working with Cisco routing and switching hardware, Google Cloud Platform, Go or C++, and Linux kernel bypass techniques such as DPDK.
