Base Salary

$217k - $359k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive firmware architecture, subsystem design, modularization, and system integration for next-generation DirectFlash SSD modules.
  • Work with controller vendors and hardware teams to bring up SSD controller SoCs and enable PCIe, NAND interfaces, power-loss protection, and telemetry.
  • Develop firmware components supporting NVMe and OCP SSD specifications for compliance, performance, and interoperability.
  • Debug cross-layer issues involving firmware, controller hardware, NAND media, and host systems.
  • Improve SSD data-path performance and latency through firmware design and analysis.
  • Review designs, mentor engineers, and improve development tools, testing, and automation.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience developing SSD firmware for enterprise or hyperscale systems, with strong knowledge of SSD architecture and controller design.
  • Strong understanding of NVMe and OCP SSD specifications.
  • Strong background in embedded firmware development and hardware/software interaction.
  • Proficiency in C and C++, with experience using Python or other scripting languages for testing and automation.
  • Hands-on experience with storage controller SoCs, PCIe, DMA engines, NAND interfaces, and hardware bring-up.
  • Experience designing firmware architectures and debugging complex firmware and hardware issues.
