Responsibilities
- Design and develop performance-optimized ABAP solutions for SAP HANA using pushdown principles, CDS views, associations, annotations, AMDP, and SQLScript.
- Build modular, testable ABAP code, services, and APIs using modern design, OData exposure patterns, secure coding, and authorization checks.
- Model enterprise business entities and reusable data artifacts for transactional, analytical, UI, integration, and AI retrieval consumers.
- Build AI-enabled SAP experiences using LLM integration, tool-calling orchestration, retrieval-grounded outputs, prompts, context assembly, deterministic fallbacks, and safety boundaries.
- Create automated unit, integration, and contract tests plus AI evaluation harnesses using golden datasets, scenario tests, monitoring, and regression coverage.
- Implement guardrails including authorization-aware context filtering, redaction, action confirmations, audit logs, observability, robust error handling, retries, idempotency, and correlation IDs.
- Support production operations and incident response through runbooks, structured diagnostics, logs, metrics, traces, and continuous hardening.
- Integrate SAP HANA services with SAP and non-SAP ecosystems, cloud runtimes, APIs, gateways, and enterprise integration layers.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional experience is required.
- 15 years of full-time education is required.
- Strong hands-on expertise in ABAP development on HANA, including performance tuning, pushdown, and efficient SQL access patterns.
- Proficiency with CDS views and modern data modeling, including associations, annotations, and authorization concepts.
- Experience with AMDP and SQLScript for performance-critical scenarios and controlled code pushdown.
- Solid software engineering discipline with clean design, testing, production readiness, and CI/CD orientation.
- Ability to build AI-native capabilities involving LLM integration, retrieval grounding, tool orchestration, evaluation loops, and safety boundaries.
- Knowledge of OData and service design, API lifecycle management, contract-first development, SAP integration, cloud runtimes, performance benchmarking, load testing, query-plan tuning, SAP security, authorizations, and compliance is beneficial.
