Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate security controls for AI platforms, generative AI solutions, AI agents, machine learning environments, and cloud services.
- Partner with AI, Data Engineering, Cyber, Architecture, Privacy, and business teams to embed security requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Build automated AI security guardrails and policy enforcement for copilots, coding assistants, model platforms, orchestration frameworks, agentic platforms, and third-party AI services.
- Implement data protection, identity, access, model access, secrets, and encryption controls for AI training, grounding, inference, APIs, agents, and integrations.
- Develop security standards, implementation patterns, technical guidance, documentation, and reusable implementation guides for secure AI adoption.
- Review solution designs, assess AI supply-chain risk, and provide practical guidance addressing security gaps, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
- Perform and support adversarial testing, prioritize and remediate weaknesses, and develop monitoring and detection capabilities for AI security events and misuse.
- Support AI governance, compliance, audit, risk management, control-library, intake, and lifecycle activities.
- Mentor engineers, architects, delivery teams, and other stakeholders on AI security risks, patterns, and control implementation.
Requirements
- A college diploma or university degree in computer science, engineering, information security, or a related technical field is required.
- 7-9 years of experience in cybersecurity, software engineering, cloud engineering, or platform engineering, including at least 4 years in a cybersecurity role.
- Expert-level knowledge of AI and cloud security controls and experience securing cloud-native and enterprise technology environments.
- Strong understanding of generative AI, large language models, AI agents, retrieval-augmented generation, machine learning platforms, model integrations, and AI-enabled business solutions.
- Knowledge of AI-specific risks including prompt injection, sensitive information disclosure, data and model poisoning, insecure output handling, excessive agency, system prompt leakage, vector and embedding weaknesses, and AI supply-chain risk.
- Experience securing Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms; GCP or OCI experience is an asset.
- Experience with enterprise AI platforms, copilots, coding assistants, model providers, orchestration frameworks, or agentic AI technologies.
- Strong knowledge of application security, API security, identity and access management, secrets management, encryption, secure software development, monitoring, logging, detection, and incident response.
- Experience developing automation, integrations, or security tooling with Python, PowerShell, or similar programming and scripting languages.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code, containers, and cloud-native technologies.
- Working knowledge of NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications, MITRE ATLAS, NIST CSF, and CIS Controls.
- Ability to influence technical decisions without direct authority, communicate technical risk to varied stakeholders, and balance security, regulatory, delivery, and business considerations.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, GIAC, Microsoft Azure Security Engineer, or Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer are considered an asset.
