Base Salary
$192k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Prevent, detect, and respond to security threats across corporate and cloud environments.
- Perform security incident response, investigation, remediation, documentation, threat hunting, and security exercises.
- Lead, scope, build, design, and maintain tools and systems supporting corporate security, detection and response, and infrastructure security.
- Partner with engineering and operations teams to remediate security issues within service-level agreements and team backlogs.
- Support secure system design, appropriate MVP approaches, and empathetic collaboration across teams.
- Help build and maintain the open-source Substation project and contribute to the Brex technical blog and wider security community.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent training/fellowship, or 5+ years of work experience.
- Experience in corporate security, detection and response, or infrastructure security, including security alert triage and incident response.
- Familiarity with DevOps workflows and cloud environments, including Buildkite, Flux, Git, Terraform, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience deploying and maintaining security services and tools such as SIEM, data pipelines, SOAR, domain monitoring, endpoint tooling, email protection tooling, and cloud security tools.
- Coding experience is required, particularly with tools written in Go and Python.
- Proficiency with Go and other programming languages is a bonus.
- Experience securing distributed systems in AWS, cloud, and Kubernetes environments is a bonus.
- Contributions to the technical community through open source, research, mentorship, organizing, blogging, or presentations are a bonus.
