Base Salary
$160k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and vision by driving architectural decisions, technical direction, standards, and prioritized initiatives.
- Architect and implement scalable systems for ingesting, processing, observing, and maintaining billions of data points.
- Lead schema design and data-flow architecture.
- Build partner and third-party integrations, including API-based and CSV/SFTP/Airflow file-driven pipelines.
- Build and maintain microservices and APIs using contract-driven development practices.
- Lead incident investigations from alert through root-cause analysis, resolution, and recurrence prevention.
- Create operational scripts, runbooks, and detection tooling.
- Monitor cloud costs and manage access and roles across the technology stack.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, operations, partner solutions, and business development teams.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to product quality through new features, improvements, and retirement of deprecated functionality.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated staff-level responsibilities or equivalent scope.
- Full-stack engineering experience scaling distributed systems and designing microservices.
- Strong proficiency with gRPC/protobuf, RESTful APIs, and contract-driven development across multi-repository service meshes.
- Hands-on experience with OLAP and OLTP relational databases and high-performance data processes.
- Experience integrating complex partner and third-party APIs and building file-driven data pipelines.
- Experience with unit, integration, TDD, and end-to-end testing approaches.
- Experience with observability, logging, data integrity, on-call rotations, triage, or customer-facing resolution.
- Ability to lead high-severity, multi-system investigations through root-cause analysis and resolution.
- Strong written and verbal communication, autonomy, technical vision, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
- Prior energy-industry experience, regulated-industry experience, internal developer tooling or platform experience, and data-quality monitoring familiarity are nice to have.
