Base Salary
$231k - $340k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead large, high-priority engineering projects spanning multiple teams and product lines.
- Build AI-powered experiences across web, desktop, mobile, APIs, Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Slack.
- Develop agent harnesses, custom agents, workflows, tool calling, retrieval, memory and context management, personalization, thread experiences, and evaluations.
- Build scalable retrieval, ingestion, data collection, security, APIs, streaming, and long-running process systems.
- Make technical bets and major product and engineering tradeoffs across multiple quarters.
- Mentor senior and staff engineers and improve engineering practices across the organization.
Requirements
- 10+ years of post-BS/MS experience in product-focused software engineering at Staff level or above.
- Depth in full-stack, backend, or agents/AI engineering, with sufficient breadth to contribute outside a primary area.
- Experience building scalable, extensible systems supporting multiple product lines.
- Track record of shipping intuitive products in fast-growing SaaS companies.
- Experience with React, TypeScript, CSS, TailwindCSS, Python, or related technologies.
- For agents/AI work, hands-on experience building and shipping agentic systems involving agent harnesses or loops, tool use, memory, and evaluations.
- Strong programming skills and general computer science knowledge.
- Experience influencing and aligning engineers and leaders beyond the candidate’s direct scope.
- Experience at early-stage startups is a plus.
- Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex is expected as part of the development workflow.
