Base Salary
$160k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of production-ready AI systems within ION Factory OS.
- Ship customer-facing AI and non-AI features that improve manufacturing workflows, including generative procedure creation, anomaly detection, and recommendations.
- Architect and maintain scalable software systems, AI/ML pipelines, and product infrastructure.
- Design RAG pipelines for context-aware insights and recommendations.
- Use MCP and similar frameworks to connect AI models with structured and unstructured data sources and external tools.
- Collaborate with product managers, customers, and data engineering to translate manufacturing challenges and data into software solutions.
- Ensure production reliability, scalability, and maintainability using CI/CD and cloud-native workflows.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 3+ years shipping AI/ML-powered products into production.
- Demonstrated experience building and shipping customer-facing applications that deliver measurable business value.
- Experience architecting scalable systems on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Expertise in data modeling, preprocessing, and model evaluation at scale.
- Familiarity with generative AI models, including LLMs, diffusion models, and GANs.
- Strong knowledge of APIs and modern software design patterns for integrating AI into SaaS products.
- Experience with or understanding of RAG and MCP is desired.
- Experience with real-time, low-latency, or edge AI deployments is desired.
- Familiarity with SOC2, GDPR, and ITAR is desired.
- Customer-facing requirements gathering, solution presentation, and value demonstration experience is desired.
- Open-source contributions or published applied AI/ML research is desired.
- Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to engineering best practices is desired.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
