Mobile Staff Engineer, Platform/Infrastructure (all genders)
HelloFreshResponsibilities
- Shape the architectural direction and execution of the brownfield-to-greenfield React Native migration for a white-labeled, multi-brand application.
- Design and evolve the React Native monorepo and developer experience to support concurrent development by more than 50 mobile engineers across multiple squads.
- Maintain and scale shared npm packages for future cross-platform code sharing with web repositories.
- Maintain and optimize Bitrise CI/CD pipelines and help shape the migration to Expo.
- Build tracing and dashboards in Honeycomb and establish organization-wide end-to-end testing frameworks with Maestro.
- Partner with Engineering Managers and Product stakeholders on technical solutions, architecture, and engineering best practices.
- Improve application health and reliability through observability tooling, performance reporting, incident response practices, and operational guardrails.
- Facilitate architectural decision-making and select appropriate documentation approaches based on initiative scope and impact.
Requirements
- Deep, production-tested React Native expertise with strong knowledge of iOS and Android, including React Native internals, performance profiling, native bridging, platform-specific constraints, and app store release processes.
- Hands-on production or near-production experience using AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Copilot, including context engineering and guardrails.
- Proven experience optimizing workflows, linting, caching, and build times for large engineering organizations of 50 or more developers.
- Experience managing complex build configurations, white-label scaling, and monorepo architectures.
- Ability to make autonomous technical decisions in ambiguous situations and support teams during complex production incidents.
- Proven ability to influence technical direction across multiple engineering teams through expertise, communication, and collaboration.
