Responsibilities
- Define and evolve imaging system architecture and the imaging software stack built on third-party SDKs.
- Characterize ISP capabilities and develop architecture documents, design specifications, and implementation guidelines.
- Create prototypes, scripts, test frameworks, and validation pipelines for new imaging concepts.
- Integrate and customize vendor camera SDKs and imaging frameworks, including sensor bring-up, ISP feature enablement, and camera control loops.
- Integrate classical ISP algorithms, AI-based image enhancement, and post-processing into a unified real-time imaging pipeline.
- Optimize image quality and system performance while resolving complex integration and scalability issues.
- Conduct design, architecture, and code reviews and provide hands-on troubleshooting, debugging, and pair programming support.
- Mentor and coach imaging engineers and organize technical workshops, training, and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Coordinate requirements and technical priorities across optical, imaging software, hardware, product management, and system architecture teams.
- Lead technical discussions with suppliers and technology partners, resolve integration issues, and evaluate supplier roadmaps and capabilities.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in imaging systems, ISP development, or image processing.
- Strong understanding of camera imaging pipelines, image-quality tuning, and ISP architectures.
- Experience integrating image-processing algorithms into embedded or real-time systems.
- Proficiency in Python and/or C/C++ for prototyping and algorithm development.
- Experience with technical leadership, architecture design, and mentoring engineering teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Preferred: experience with AI/ML-based image enhancement techniques.
- Preferred: knowledge of camera sensors, optics, and optical characterization.
- Preferred: familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for embedded systems.
- Preferred: experience working with external technology suppliers and partners.
