Responsibilities
- Drive the technical design and implementation of new application connectors, provisioning and synchronization features, and authentication flows.
- Build and maintain Java services, REST/SOAP API clients, OAuth2/SAML authentication handlers, and vendor-specific error-mapping layers.
- Implement user and group provisioning adapters, scheduled synchronization/import jobs, retry and backoff logic, rate limiting, and pagination strategies.
- Develop and modify React and JSP configuration screens for integration features.
- Handle credential and secret management, token exchange, audit logging, security standards, and compliance requirements.
- Partner with product managers, support, and technical leads to prioritize integrations and resolve customer connectivity issues.
- Participate in on-call rotations, troubleshoot production integration issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and improve observability and alerting.
- Write unit and functional tests, participate in code reviews, maintain technical documentation, and participate in technical interviews and recruiting.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience building and operating reliable, production-grade backend services.
- Strong proficiency with Java and Spring Boot and experience owning services from design through production support.
- Experience with asynchronous job processing, scheduled or batch synchronization jobs, and event-driven patterns.
- Proficiency with relational databases such as MySQL and caching layers such as Redis.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating with third-party systems with varying API quality.
- Practical experience with retry and backoff strategies, rate limiting, pagination, throttling, and resilient distributed systems.
- Enough React and JSP experience to independently build and modify frontend interfaces.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred experience with SCIM, SAML, OAuth, OIDC, Active Directory, LDAP, SOAP provisioning, multi-tenant SaaS, FedRAMP/GCC-High environments, Kafka, and WireMock or comparable API-mocking tools.
