Responsibilities
- Own the web-compatibility side of the site-breakage triage process.
- Debug complex issues in third-party code and distinguish site bugs, browser bugs, and privacy-protection-induced breakage.
- Reverse-engineer how websites detect privacy protections and build countermeasures that keep pages working.
- Shim browser APIs across browser engines and system webviews.
- Lead incident response when major websites break and ship durable fixes across Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android.
- Build LLM agent pipelines and other automation to reproduce and triage reported site breakage.
- Lead complex, ambiguous projects with little to no oversight and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience building and debugging complex web applications with vanilla JavaScript.
- Detailed knowledge of web standards, web components, and browser APIs.
- Advanced ability to reverse-engineer obfuscated third-party code and reduce issues to minimal test cases.
- Experience hunting elusive bugs and tracing them to their root cause.
- Experience triaging issues, leading incident response, and communicating clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience shipping code beyond the web, such as native or desktop clients.
- Additional experience with Swift, Kotlin, C#, C++, or Python is a bonus.
- Interest in automating repetitive work and building agentic tooling.
