$200k - $288k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support a highly scalable and reliable distributed cloud control-plane system.
- Develop the service architecture for the next generation of the Snowflake Data Cloud.
- Analyze and resolve complex system performance and scalability bottlenecks.
- Own projects end to end, from solution identification and design through implementation, testing, and safe production rollout.
- Ensure operational readiness and perform production operations while meeting durability, availability, and performance commitments.
- Build high-quality, reliable software for large enterprise customers.
- Develop tools that improve system observability and insights.
- Mentor and support the professional growth of junior engineers.
Requirements
- 6+ years of industry experience working on commercial software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and deep knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems concepts such as consistency, scaling, and failure recovery, plus strong fluency in Java.
- Experience implementing AI agents; reviewing human- and AI-generated code; testing, debugging, and deploying software to production.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Bonus: experience with SQL or other database control-plane technologies, including internal design and implementation.
- Bonus: experience deploying and managing distributed key-value stores such as FoundationDB across multiple clouds.
