Responsibilities
- Support and further integrate management of the .CERN top-level domain, including certificate procurement and automated certificate renewal.
- Implement features for CERN web infrastructure services, including the Web Services Portal.
- Develop information retrieval functionality for .CERN sites and extensions to the hosting mechanisms used by .CERN sites.
- Contribute to web hosting services running on OpenShift/OKD4-based PaaS infrastructure.
- Work collaboratively with users and cross-functional teams to improve service quality and user satisfaction.
Requirements
- Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in software engineering, computer engineering, or a related field; applicants without a university degree or with a PhD are not eligible.
- Have no more than two years of professional experience since graduation and have never held a CERN fellow or graduate contract.
- Be a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
- Have experience with full-stack software development, version control systems, and CI/CD workflows.
- Have programming skills in Python, JavaScript, and React.
- Know web protocols and technologies, including certificates, as well as Git, test automation, and deployment automation.
- Have knowledge of Linux and Bash scripting.
- Have strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, collaboration, and user-focused service skills.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, OpenShift/OKD container technology, and web content management systems such as Drupal or WordPress is advantageous.
- Have spoken and written English and a commitment to learn French.
