Responsibilities
- Manage technical projects and help teams design and build extensible, production-quality AI/ML systems and pipelines.
- Explore data and craft AI solutions addressing core business problems.
- Work with Partners and Principals to shape proposals using AI and engineering capabilities.
- Build and deploy LLM-based agent systems in production.
- Develop familiarity with emerging modeling and data engineering methodologies and advocate best practices in modeling, code hygiene, and data engineering.
- Lead development of proprietary AI/ML solutions, algorithms, analytical tools, and infrastructure.
- Engage directly with clients to understand business challenges and collaborate with specialists and consultants on solutions.
Requirements
- Technical background in computer science, data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, statistics, or another quantitative or computational science.
- Track record of designing and deploying large-scale technical solutions that deliver ongoing value.
- Direct experience building and deploying robust, complex production systems implementing modern AI at scale.
- Ability to make consequential design decisions rapidly in large, time-boxed projects.
- Fluency in modern programming languages for AI and agents across the end-to-end AI development lifecycle.
- Knowledge of one or more agentic platforms, including Azure Foundry, AWS Bedrock, or Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform.
- Deep familiarity with compound AI systems, including retrieval-augmented generation, tool use, agentic memory, and multi-agent orchestration.
- Experience designing and operating evaluation frameworks and observability tooling for AI system quality, failure detection, and production performance.
- Proficiency in LLM system design, including prompt engineering, context and token management, structured output, fine-tuning tradeoffs, and cost and latency optimization.
- Practical awareness of AI risk, bias, and governance in high-stakes or regulated environments.
- Applied understanding of modeling or analytical techniques and mathematical foundations including statistics, linear algebra, and vector calculus.
- Experience presenting at high-impact AI/ML developer conferences and connections to the AI/ML developer community are valued.
- Interest or background in financial services, healthcare and life sciences, consumer, retail, energy, or transportation industries.
- Open-source contributions or compelling side projects are valued but not required.
Benefits
- Base salary range of $195K to $285K CAD, plus potential performance-based incentives.
- Hybrid work with remote flexibility; colleagues are expected to work in their local office or onsite with clients at least three days per week.
- Office-based teams identify at least one weekly anchor day for in-person collaboration.
- Roles are available across Oliver Wyman offices, including Toronto and Montreal.
