Base Salary
$79k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own software design and development for core components and features on the I/O path of the Block Storage Service.
- Develop major components of Block Storage Service infrastructure for highly available, large-scale distributed systems.
- Design broad distributed-system interactions and work across low-level data-plane stack components.
- Build and operate multi-tenant, virtualized storage infrastructure and data management capabilities.
- Troubleshoot and tune system performance in a collaborative engineering environment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience delivering large-scale, highly available distributed systems and backend services.
- Extensive experience developing clean code in C++ and scripting languages such as Python.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, multithreading, I/O paths, operating systems, and distributed-systems fundamentals.
- Strong understanding of block storage systems and distributed persistence technologies.
- Working familiarity with TCP/IP, HTTP, and standard network architectures.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance-tuning skills.
- Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized storage infrastructure and data-management systems.

- US hiring range is $79,200 to $209,500 per annum, with possible bonus and equity eligibility.
