Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated test cases in Python.
  • Perform functional, regression, and performance testing on Layer 1 and Layer 2 network systems.
  • Validate hardware and software integration with optical interfaces and network switches.
  • Configure traffic generators such as IXIA to simulate network environments and evaluate performance.
  • Collaborate with software, hardware, design, manufacturing, IT, and database engineering teams to identify and resolve defects and define manufacturing test solutions.
  • Document test cases, test results, and defects in test management tools.
  • Maintain test code and assets in GitHub, Bitbucket, or other version control systems.
  • Define, create, maintain, and control manufacturing test scripts.
  • Manage manufacturing software change control processes.
  • Improve manufacturing test data reliability, scalability, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
  • Help improve manufacturing yield, efficiency, and cost.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • 4–8 years of hands-on experience in software testing and test automation for products used in optical networking.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for test automation.
  • Good understanding of Layer 1 and Layer 2 networking protocols.
  • Experience with optical testing, network switches, and traffic generators such as IXIA.
  • Ability to debug issues in complex networking environments.
  • Experience with Jenkins, ArgoCD, or other CI/CD tools.
  • Familiarity with Shell scripting for automation and environment setup.
  • Experience with automated test system development for electronics and optics manufacturing.
  • Experience with optical product testing equipment and coding.
  • Knowledge of C# .NET, object-oriented programming concepts, Windows Forms or WPF, hardware communication protocols, databases, and version control tools.
  • Experience with optical transceivers, especially silicon photonics, is a plus.
  • Exposure to C# for UI validation or tool development is a plus.
