Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated test cases in Python.
- Perform functional, regression, and performance testing on Layer 1 and Layer 2 network systems.
- Validate hardware and software integration with optical interfaces and network switches.
- Configure and use traffic generators like IXIA to simulate network environments.
- Collaborate with developers and hardware engineers to identify and resolve defects.
- Document test cases, results, and defects in test management tools.
- Maintain code and test assets in version control systems like GitHub or Bitbucket.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to develop test software for high-volume production.
- Manage manufacturing software change control processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field.
- 4–8 years of hands-on experience in software testing and test automation for optical networking products.
- Strong proficiency in Python for test automation.
- Good understanding of Layer 1 and Layer 2 networking protocols.
- Experience with optical testing, network switches, and traffic generators like IXIA.
- Ability to debug issues in complex networking environments.
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or ArgoCD.
- Familiarity with Shell scripting for automation.
- Exposure to C# for UI validation or tool development is a plus.
