Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated test cases in Python.
- Perform functional, regression, and performance testing on Layer 1 and Layer 2 network systems.
- Validate hardware and software integration with optical interfaces and network switches.
- Configure traffic generators such as IXIA to simulate network environments and evaluate performance.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, design, manufacturing, IT, and database engineering teams to identify and resolve defects and define manufacturing test solutions.
- Document test cases, test results, and defects in test management tools.
- Maintain test code and assets in GitHub, Bitbucket, or other version control systems.
- Define, create, maintain, and control manufacturing test scripts.
- Manage manufacturing software change control processes.
- Improve manufacturing test data reliability, scalability, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
- Help improve manufacturing yield, efficiency, and cost.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- 4–8 years of hands-on experience in software testing and test automation for products used in optical networking.
- Strong proficiency in Python for test automation.
- Good understanding of Layer 1 and Layer 2 networking protocols.
- Experience with optical testing, network switches, and traffic generators such as IXIA.
- Ability to debug issues in complex networking environments.
- Experience with Jenkins, ArgoCD, or other CI/CD tools.
- Familiarity with Shell scripting for automation and environment setup.
- Experience with automated test system development for electronics and optics manufacturing.
- Experience with optical product testing equipment and coding.
- Knowledge of C# .NET, object-oriented programming concepts, Windows Forms or WPF, hardware communication protocols, databases, and version control tools.
- Experience with optical transceivers, especially silicon photonics, is a plus.
- Exposure to C# for UI validation or tool development is a plus.
