Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and implementation of scalable, maintainable, reliable, and distributed software systems.
- Make technical decisions and provide direction to engineers and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Review architecture, technical designs, and code for quality, scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Identify technical debt and drive improvements in reliability, performance, and developer productivity.
- Champion AI-first development practices, including AI agents for coding, testing, debugging, documentation, code reviews, and automation.
- Establish best practices for prompting, context engineering, agent orchestration, validation, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
- Promote engineering standards across development, testing, deployment, observability, and production operations.
- Mentor and coach engineers while supporting knowledge sharing, ownership, experimentation, and continuous learning.
- Work with relational and NoSQL databases and collaborate with Data and Analytics teams on data foundations.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, including technical ownership of systems or products.
- Strong knowledge of software design principles, SOLID principles, design patterns, and clean architecture.
- Strong programming fundamentals and experience with at least one modern programming language.
- Experience designing and building scalable, distributed, and production-grade applications.
- Strong understanding of API design, system integration, testing, CI/CD, and cloud-based systems.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and influence engineering practices across a team.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Interest in generative AI, AI agents, agentic workflows, and AI-first engineering practices.
- Experience using AI coding assistants or AI agents in day-to-day software development.
- Good understanding of databases and data modeling is an advantage.
