Responsibilities
- Build and evolve fast, reliable, maintainable backend services and APIs.
- Take features from ideation through implementation, production release, measurement, and improvement.
- Contribute to architectural decisions, technical proposals, and long-term system design.
- Operate production services by monitoring for issues, responding to incidents, debugging, and improving resilience.
- Review code, share knowledge, and support the growth of other engineers.
- Collaborate with product, design, and business teams to deliver practical technical solutions and communicate trade-offs.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building and operating production backend systems in Kotlin, Java, or Ruby.
- Strong foundations in API design, relational databases, and data modeling, including maintaining data consistency at scale.
- Hands-on experience running production services, debugging, investigating incidents, and improving system resilience.
- Experience in a startup, fintech, payroll, payments, or banking environment is preferred, especially regulated environments.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving environment with changing priorities.
- Curiosity about AI and practical experience using it, including building LLM-powered features or using AI tools in daily work.
