Base Salary
$140k - $165k/yr
Responsibilities
- Implement and tune active laser control and stabilization algorithms on embedded targets.
- Own firmware components for photonic transceiver diagnostics, telemetry, and monitoring from requirements through bring-up, testing, and release.
- Contribute to control-plane and diagnostics architecture with photonic, analog, digital, systems, and network engineers.
- Integrate transceiver management and telemetry with CMIS, OpenBMC, and DMTF interfaces and standards.
- Bring up new hardware and debug embedded systems using GDB, JTAG, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
- Characterize laser behavior with optical test equipment and create automated test and data-collection scripts.
- Document technical findings and communicate effectively with engineers across specialties.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years of experience, master’s degree plus 3+ years of experience, or a PhD; equivalent practical experience is considered.
- Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field.
- Experience contributing embedded software to shipped products or production or field-deployed hardware.
- Proficiency in C or C++ and comfort using Python for tooling, testing, and analysis.
- Understanding of hardware-software integration and embedded peripherals and buses including I2C, SPI, UART, and GPIO.
- Experience developing firmware in resource-constrained environments; bare-metal and RTOS experience is preferred.
- Hands-on embedded debugging experience with GDB, JTAG, logic analyzers, or oscilloscopes.
- Working knowledge of Git and experience with CMake or a comparable build system.
- Preferred experience with closed-loop control, optical transceivers, photonic systems, precision analog or mixed-signal hardware, CMIS, OpenBMC, DMTF/Redfish, optical communications, laser physics, optical testing, hardware-in-the-loop test benches, or firmware CI.
