Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain embedded firmware for real-time robotics systems covering control, sensing, and system health monitoring
- Own the complete firmware lifecycle from architecture and implementation through testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues spanning firmware, software, hardware, and component behaviour
- Collaborate with electrical, controls, motion planning, and systems engineers as the technical bridge between hardware and software
- Advise leadership on firmware strategy and technical direction
Requirements
- Production experience building and shipping embedded firmware for real-time systems
- Deep knowledge of MCU internals, peripherals, and real-time constraints
- Proficiency in C and C++ for embedded targets
- Experience with communication protocols such as CANOpenFD, UART, I2C, or equivalent
- Ability to use oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and DMMs to diagnose timing, signalling, and electrical issues
- Experience owning firmware end-to-end from architecture through validation and long-term maintenance
- Fluency in both English and Spanish
- Experience with motor control, power-stage firmware, or embedded communications in robotics or industrial automation is preferred
- Familiarity with Linux, Docker, and CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions is preferred
