Responsibilities
- Develop mission operations processes, concepts of operations, procedures, sequences of events, and command scripts across all mission phases.
- Script and automate satellite command-and-control procedures using Python or similar languages.
- Design, develop, and maintain mission operations tools, automation scripts, telemetry validation logic, monitoring dashboards, operator interfaces, and visualization tools.
- Configure, operate, troubleshoot, integrate, and evolve Satellite Operations Center software, architectures, and environments.
- Support system integration tests, end-to-end testing, mission simulations, rehearsals, readiness activities, and critical on-orbit operations.
- Collaborate with systems engineering, flight software, ground software, and external vendors, and provide mentoring and technical guidance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, Mathematics, or another STEM field.
- 2–5+ years of relevant experience in mission operations, software development, or automation roles.
- Experience scripting operational procedures or automation workflows using Python or similar languages.
- Familiarity with satellite command-and-control operations and mission operations workflows.
- Experience working in Windows development and operations environments and with applications deployed in AWS or other cloud environments.
- Familiarity with Git, Atlassian tools including Jira and Confluence, distributed systems, networking protocols, API integrations, dashboards, databases, and systems engineering practices is preferred.
- Ability to support periodic rotating shifts during LEOP and other critical on-orbit operations, and ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
