Base Salary

$110k - $130k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop internal applications using TypeScript, Node.js, and JavaScript.
  • Work on both frontend and backend code bases.
  • Support the value of journalistic independence and the mission of The New York Times.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and JavaScript environments.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot.
  • Experience building applications using React.js.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal customers and technical peers.
  • Experience building applications on a major cloud provider (AWS or GCP).
  • Experience building and integrating APIs.
  • Ability to dissect and understand complex systems.
