Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and modernize insurance risk, credit risk, capital markets, and financial risk platforms.
- Translate business, regulatory, actuarial, and analytical requirements into technical designs and implementation tasks.
- Build cloud-native services for model execution, analytical workloads, risk calculations, distributed processing, and workflow orchestration.
- Develop data models, data pipelines, integration services, and controls for lineage, governance, auditability, data quality, and reconciliation.
- Implement and enhance capabilities for VaR, stress testing, sensitivities, XVA, counterparty risk, P&L, CECL, IFRS 9, regulatory reporting, insurance modeling, and reserving.
- Optimize application and data-processing performance and apply standards for resiliency, scalability, observability, security, and supportability.
- Deliver software through design, development, unit testing, code review, documentation, defect resolution, and production-readiness activities.
- Collaborate with architects, managers, business stakeholders, traders, risk teams, actuaries, model developers, operations teams, and distributed engineering teams.
- Participate in solution reviews, design reviews, sprint planning, estimation, and technical knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years contributing to risk, finance, insurance, or analytical technology solutions.
- Advanced or expert Java proficiency and working knowledge of Python; Scala or C++ experience is beneficial.
- Experience with cloud-native applications, distributed processing, data platforms, multithreaded development, concurrency, or high-performance computing.
- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, source control, and modern software delivery practices.
- Working knowledge of Credit Risk, Insurance Risk, Capital Markets, or regulatory risk frameworks, with delivery experience in Insurance, Banking, or Capital Markets.
- Experience with relevant financial risk programs or capabilities such as CCAR, CECL, FRTB, Basel III/IV, XVA, Market Risk, Liquidity Risk, or ALM.
- Knowledge of front-to-back trading lifecycle processes, including pricing, positions, pre-trade risk, valuation, P&L, settlement, accounting, reconciliation, and regulatory reporting.
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, actuarial science, finance, or a related field.
- Prior consulting experience is preferred.
- Preferred experience includes Databricks or Snowflake and Redis or GridGain-style distributed caching solutions; familiarity with agentic AI, RAG, LangChain, or MCP frameworks is a plus.
Benefits
- Base salary ranges from $102,500 to $187,900 for other U.S. offices, $122,900 to $204,900 in New York City, Boston, Washington DC Metro Areas, Washington State, and Southern California, and $128,100 to $213,400 in Bay Area California offices.
