Base Salary

$136k - $204k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, develop, and modify embedded software using modern development techniques, primarily in C/C++.
  • Work across software specification, design, implementation, integration, debugging, and maintenance activities.
  • Identify risks, recommend mitigations, track defects, develop resolutions, and report status.
  • Design and execute unit tests, create build verification test plans, and track testing status.
  • Test and verify software on simulators and production hardware in System Integration Laboratories.
  • Evaluate new technologies and participate in systems, technical peer, design, architecture, and end-to-end requirements reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field and 8 years of related experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance and Special Program Access are required.
  • At least 6 years of experience working in C/C++.
  • At least 6 years of experience with real-time embedded software.
  • At least 6 years of experience across the full software lifecycle, including specification, design, implementation, integration, debugging, and maintenance.
  • Preferred qualifications include algorithmic application development and optimization; Electronic Warfare, Built-in Test, or calibration experience; VxWorks or Linux; Visual Studio; Matlab; Coverity, SonarQube, or Clockwork; Open Architecture Solutions; and experience with the Atlassian toolset, Kubernetes, Model Based Engineering, and DevSecOps practices.
  • SkillBridge participants must meet program eligibility requirements, including at least 180 days of active duty, being within 12 months of separation or retirement, an honorable discharge, completed TAPS/TGPS, a recent ethics brief, and commander authorization.

  • SkillBridge participation provides up to 180 days of on-the-job training on a schedule equivalent to 40 hours per week and may lead to full-time employment.
  • SkillBridge participants continue receiving military compensation and benefits and are not eligible for compensation from Northrop Grumman during the program.
