Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, tests, troubleshoots, and delivers secure, high-quality production software solutions.
  • Builds and operates batch and streaming ETL/ELT pipelines and data platforms on AWS.
  • Reviews and debugs code, establishes validation standards, and promotes reusable engineering patterns.
  • Automates recurring issue remediation and improves application reliability, monitoring, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Leads vendor, startup, and internal technical architecture evaluation sessions.
  • Drives responsible adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering tools and coaches engineers on validating AI outputs.
  • Leads software engineering communities of practice and supports an inclusive team culture.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Proficiency in system design, testing, and operational ownership.
  • Advanced Python and cloud-native AWS engineering experience, including IAM, VPC, KMS, and CloudWatch.
  • Production experience delivering AWS ETL/ELT pipelines using services such as AWS Glue, Amazon EMR, AWS Lambda, Amazon MWAA, and AWS Step Functions.
  • Strong data engineering knowledge covering CDC, incremental processing, backfills, idempotency, late-arriving data, and schema evolution.
  • Experience with AWS analytics, storage, streaming, and messaging services including Amazon S3, Amazon Redshift, Amazon Athena, AWS Lake Formation, Glue Data Catalog, Amazon Kinesis, and Amazon MSK.
  • Experience with data quality, monitoring, alerting, pipeline CI/CD, performance and cost optimization, security, and governance practices.
  • Experience leading approved AI-assisted software development practices and coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption.
  • Understanding of responsible AI workflows, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
  • Practical experience using large language models to accelerate advanced coding workflows.
