Base Salary
$143k - $275k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the design, implementation, and operation of cloud-scale solutions, telemetry platforms, data pipelines, and infrastructure components.
- Drive alignment and execution for initiatives spanning multiple services and organizations.
- Improve and experiment with AI tools and practices across the software development lifecycle.
- Set technical direction for significant product areas and influence architectural decisions across teams.
- Partner with product management, SRE, security, compliance, CSS, and platform teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Establish engineering practices for design reviews, code reviews, testing, deployment, monitoring, and incident response.
- Investigate complex production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive long-term corrective actions.
- Collaborate across teams, mentor engineers, and help establish technical direction and engineering standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Coding experience with Rust, C, C++, C#, Go, or Python.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree and 8+ years of experience, or a bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with observability systems, telemetry pipelines, monitoring platforms, OpenTelemetry, or cloud-native infrastructure.
- Experience with Kubernetes, containers, cloud platforms, or large-scale data processing systems.
- Demonstrated Rust coding experience.
- Experience contributing to or working with large-scale open source projects.
