$166k - $296k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own architecture, implementation, deployment, operations, and roadmap for a critical data security platform area.
- Author, document, and drive technical designs covering interfaces, tradeoffs, operational requirements, and architectural decisions.
- Write production code and prototypes to validate designs and resolve complex distributed-systems challenges.
- Lead technical alignment across engineering organizations by defining shared architectures, dependency contracts, roadmaps, standards, and ownership boundaries.
- Own reliability and supportability for cloud-scale services, including telemetry, deployment and rollback practices, on-call operations, and incident reduction.
- Raise security, privacy, and compliance standards through threat modeling, security invariants, deployment gates, scanning, monitoring, and audit evidence.
- Ensure cross-service solutions have end-to-end testing, live-site coverage, dependency validation, and escalation paths before release.
- Establish responsible AI-native practices across requirements, design, development, testing, and operations.
- Mentor and develop engineers through technical leadership, design and code reviews, and coaching.
- Turn ambiguous requirements into actionable technical direction and shared execution plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline and 8+ years of technical engineering experience involving coding, or equivalent experience.
- Coding experience in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, or comparable languages.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of technical engineering experience, or a master’s degree and 12+ years, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: 10+ years designing, building, and operating scalable, highly available cloud services or distributed systems with production ownership, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
- Preferred: 7+ years leading technical architecture across multiple engineering teams or organizations and defining contracts, standards, or shared patterns adopted beyond the immediate team.
- Experience designing secure, latency-sensitive policy evaluation, authorization, or access-control systems and applying authentication, data protection, access control, and secure coding practices.
- Experience building LLM and generative AI applications involving agent orchestration, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, fine-tuning, or model evaluation.
