Base Salary
$143k - $275k/yr
Responsibilities
- Determine user requirements for complex scenarios with stakeholders.
- Provide technical leadership for dependencies and design documents across products, applications, services, or platforms.
- Lead by example by producing extensible and maintainable code used across the company.
- Lead product project plans, release plans, and work items while coordinating with stakeholders.
- Serve as a Designated Responsible Individual, mentor engineers, and participate in on-call monitoring for system degradation, downtime, or interruptions.
- Improve availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance while driving consistent monitoring and operations at scale.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Coding experience in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Preferred: master’s degree and 8+ years of technical engineering experience, or bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience building and operating large-scale distributed backend services.
- At least 1 year of experience with AI-native development and coding practices.
- At least 5 years of experience as a technical lead, including mentoring and providing technical guidance to engineers.
- Experience with recommendation platforms, model training infrastructure, or agent platforms is a plus.
Benefits
- Employees within a 50-mile commute of a designated U.S. Microsoft office, or a 25-mile commute of a designated non-U.S. location, are expected to work from the office at least four days per week starting January 26, 2026, subject to local law and jurisdiction.
