Base Salary
$143k - $275k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, test, and maintain large-scale research platforms that drive compute clusters across diverse hardware.
- Develop end-to-end systems, libraries, tools, and agentic workflows that accelerate AI research and development.
- Gather data and insights to define the AI infrastructure roadmap and identify long-term investments and emerging technologies.
- Provide technical vision, expertise, mentorship, and leadership to team members.
- Collaborate with service engineers, product managers, research teams, and science teams on infrastructure solutions.
- Lead technical projects and support architectural decisions using data.
- Profile, benchmark, and optimize large performance-critical systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree and 8+ years of experience, or a bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with distributed computing and designing and delivering platforms from concept through production.
- Experience building infrastructure for large-scale machine-learning or generative-AI workloads using technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Volcano, or SLURM.
- Experience building agentic workflows to automate AI developer inner and outer loops.
- Experience with high-performance computing or large-scale AI infrastructure projects.
- Experience with GPU programming using CUDA and NCCL and frameworks such as PyTorch.
- Deep expertise in networking such as InfiniBand and NVLink, storage systems, or distributed-training parallelisms.
Benefits
- The typical U.S. base pay range is $142,800–$274,800 per year, with different ranges for specified San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area locations.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
- The position will remain open for at least 5 days and accepts applications on an ongoing basis until filled.
