Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and ship backend services and APIs for real-time betting systems.
- Deliver work in small, independently shippable increments and validate changes in production.
- Own services after deployment, including monitoring, alerting, and occasional on-call support.
- Write clean, tested, and documented code; participate in code reviews and capture key technical decisions.
- Learn the Managed Trading Services ecosystem and grow toward end-to-end ownership of features.
- Collaborate with product managers and senior engineers to turn requirements into deliverable work.
- Use AI-assisted, spec-driven, and agentic development workflows.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional experience with Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate or similar modern frameworks, or another strong object-oriented language.
- Good understanding of computer science fundamentals and clean, testable code.
- Experience with automated unit, integration, and API testing, using tools such as JUnit or Mockito.
- Comfort with CI/CD and collaborative Git workflows.
- Experience using AI-assisted, spec-driven development as part of daily work.
- Willingness to own production responsibilities including deployment, monitoring, and on-call support.
- Preferred experience includes AWS, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, relational or NoSQL databases, gRPC, Protobuf, REST API design, event-driven systems, Terraform, GitOps, and observability tooling.
- Interest in betting, trading, or other real-time and high-throughput domains.
