Base Salary
$130k - $135k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain microservices within a Lerna-managed monorepo using Express.js and NestJS.
- Architect scalable solutions for high-throughput financial data processing.
- Optimize MySQL database performance using Prisma and Sequelize.
- Implement message queue systems using AWS SQS, BullMQ, and Redis.
- Lead code reviews and mentor junior developers.
- Collaborate on API design and maintain OpenAPI specifications.
- Improve system reliability through Jest-based testing.
- Participate in CI/CD pipeline improvements using Jenkins.
- Debug and optimize production issues across distributed services.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of production Node.js experience.
- Expert-level TypeScript knowledge, including type inference and advanced patterns.
- Expertise in MySQL optimization, query performance tuning, and migration strategies.
- Experience with Prisma and Sequelize or comparable ORMs.
- Production experience with SQS, Redis/BullMQ, or similar messaging systems.
- Expertise in unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies.
- Experience with Docker and containerization, including multi-stage builds, orchestration, and optimization.
- Preferred experience with NestJS and REST API development.
- Preferred financial services or fintech background.
- Preferred experience with AWS services, including SQS, S3, and LocalStack.
- Preferred familiarity with conventional commits and semantic versioning.
- Preferred experience migrating legacy codebases while maintaining production stability.
- Preferred knowledge of Redis for caching and job queue management.
