Responsibilities
- Implement and fix UI features across panels and tooltip systems, including layout scripting and game-data integration.
- Use the proprietary GUI scripting language to build interfaces connected to the game API.
- Adapt and extend existing UI patterns for new gameplay systems and features.
- Debug and maintain UI for a stable and readable product.
- Collaborate with UX designers, artists, gameplay programmers, content designers, and QA.
- Participate in code reviews, task breakdowns, and retrospectives.
- Contribute to shared UI patterns and maintain codebase consistency.
Requirements
- Required experience or education in C++ programming.
- Ability to quickly learn and become productive in new scripting or domain-specific languages.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Genuine interest in UI and game design and comfort collaborating with designers and artists.
- Preferred experience in game development or with a game engine.
- Preferred familiarity with tooltip or HUD systems in games.
- Preferred knowledge of UI design patterns and best practices.
- Experience with Europa Universalis or other Paradox games as a player or modder is a plus.
