Base Salary

$120k - $261k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve automation pipelines for quantum-device data analysis and experiments.
  • Develop and apply AI and machine-learning methods to quantum-device characterization, tuning, and complex experimental-data analysis.
  • Integrate machine-learning models into simulation and control environments with researchers and engineers.
  • Build scalable and reproducible experimental-analysis workflows and take increasing ownership as projects mature.
  • Design and build AI agents or copilots for experiment setup, log triage, measurement-report generation, protocol templating, and knowledge retrieval.
  • Document and present technical solutions to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Physics, Engineering, or a related field plus at least 1 year of industry or research-and-development experience; or a master's degree plus at least 4 years; or a bachelor's degree plus at least 6 years; or equivalent experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience with mesoscopic condensed-matter or topological physics, including quantum devices, transport, or cryogenic experiments, is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience contributing to open-source projects, deployed technical solutions, or published research is preferred.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with deep learning, foundation or generative models, probabilistic methods, and AI-enabled scientific workflows is preferred.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or similar languages are preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate across physics, experimental, software, and AI disciplines and strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
  • Ability to satisfy export-control citizenship or protected-status verification requirements.
  • Ability to leverage AI tools for performance modeling and analysis, research gathering, and task automation.

Benefits

  • The typical U.S. base pay range is USD $119,800–$234,700 per year, with a separate San Francisco Bay Area and New York City range of USD $160,200–$261,000 per year.
  • Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
  • The position is open for a minimum of 5 days, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until filled.
