Base Salary
$143k - $304k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build large-scale systems for machine learning training, evaluation, inference, and production operation.
- Transform machine learning models and research innovations into reliable, scalable product capabilities.
- Develop reusable infrastructure, services, and components supporting multiple models and workloads.
- Solve engineering problems involving scalability, performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Partner with applied scientists and software engineers to integrate modeling advances into production systems.
- Drive architectural decisions while implementing critical components hands-on.
- Incorporate security, privacy, safety, and Responsible AI considerations into system design and development.
- Provide technical direction and mentorship across the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with one or more of C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
- Preferred: master’s or doctorate in Computer Science or a related technical field focused on machine learning, with 7+ years of technical engineering experience or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: experience building ML infrastructure or platforms for multiple models, teams, or workloads.
- Preferred: experience driving architecture across complex, cross-team engineering initiatives.
- Preferred: demonstrated interest in AI safety and Responsible AI.
- Preferred: experience deploying and scaling machine learning models and pipelines in production.
- Preferred: experience with machine learning systems, distributed systems, software architecture, and system design.
- Preferred: ability to solve technically ambiguous problems and implement critical systems while influencing broader technical direction.
