Base Salary
$143k - $304k/yr
Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical leader and domain expert for AI- and ML-based intelligent services and products.
- Lead architectural design for complex backend, data, and ML systems that meet security, compliance, scalability, and reliability requirements.
- Define engineering quality strategies, metrics, standards, and reusable design patterns.
- Partner with product managers, applied scientists, data engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver features and platform improvements.
- Create and improve internal tools and frameworks that increase developer velocity and automation.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and technical guidance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud background check.
- Preferred: 6+ years designing, implementing, and operating large-scale distributed backend, data-intensive, or ML-driven and evaluation systems in production.
- Preferred: 5+ years developing and deploying AI/ML or GenAI products or systems across multiple product-cycle stages.
- Preferred: experience setting technical direction, influencing architecture, mentoring engineers, operating distributed systems or data platforms, and working with Azure platforms and modern deployment practices.
