Responsibilities
- Develop scalable Java backend applications and resilient features for the Asset Management product.
- Own system delivery end to end, including design, architecture, development, operations, support, and maintenance.
- Design and optimize big data solutions, data lakes, distributed SQL architectures, and streaming pipelines.
- Use Trino to design and optimize query architectures across large-scale data lakes and tune workloads for performance.
- Lead development of large-scale systems and manage infrastructure-layer delivery.
- Guide, mentor, and train engineers on complex technical issues and participate in hiring engineers and interns.
- Troubleshoot complex issues and conduct performance benchmarking for big data technologies.
- Design and implement secure big data clusters that satisfy compliance and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on Java backend development experience with Spring Boot.
- 5+ years of experience designing and architecting big data solutions using Spark.
- 5+ years of experience understanding big data event-flow pipelines and working with data lakes and related ecosystems.
- 3+ years of experience working with engineering resources on innovation initiatives.
- Strong programming, object-oriented design, prototyping, development, testing, profiling, data structures, and algorithms skills.
- Strong hands-on Trino expertise, including distributed SQL analytics, query architecture, performance tuning, and workload optimization.
- Experience integrating Trino with Hive, Iceberg, and Parquet-based lakehouse ecosystems is highly preferred.
- Experience with Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Oracle, Cassandra, Redis, Hadoop, Flink, Presto, and Airflow.
- Experience engineering and deploying ML models and working with RDBMS and NoSQL systems.
- Experience leading large-scale system delivery, development lifecycle processes, best practices, mentoring, and training.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related engineering program, plus 8+ years of experience in the offered role or a similar role.
