Responsibilities
- Contribute to the architecture, design, and implementation of distributed database layers and backend services.
- Design scalable configuration and time-series databases on distributed NoSQL solutions.
- Architect, design, and implement database queries and data models.
- Develop solutions for performance, scale-out, resiliency, and fault tolerance in distributed storage systems.
- Optimize queries, storage-layer performance, and in-memory data workflows through CPU and memory analysis.
- Create test plans, automation, and benchmarks in collaboration with QA teams.
- Work with development, test, documentation, and product management teams to deliver software.
- Engage with customers and support teams to resolve production issues and handle critical on-call responsibilities.
Requirements
- Strong programming ability in one or more of C, C++, Java, or Python, ideally for enterprise-quality software.
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems is preferred.
- Development experience with database backends, distributed systems management, and cloud technologies.
- Familiarity with OS internals, distributed data management, and tradeoffs in clustered, high-performance, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
- Extensive knowledge of UNIX/Linux.
