Base Salary
$190k - $265k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, operate, and evolve critical platform infrastructure, services, and developer tooling.
- Improve how engineers build, test, deploy, and operate software, including leading platform migrations.
- Scale compute, databases, queues, caching, and edge systems for increasing traffic and customer demand.
- Support multi-cloud deployments across regional and customer-managed environments.
- Improve observability, incident response, and operational automation while reducing on-call toil.
- Lead infrastructure projects from architecture through production, including backend re-architecture and AI-first developer tooling.
- Review designs, establish technical standards, mentor engineers, and improve engineering practices across the team.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional software development experience.
- Deep experience with cloud infrastructure, infrastructure as code, distributed systems, CI/CD, observability, and operating large-scale production software.
- Experience leading critical infrastructure projects from architecture through production.
- Ability to make thoughtful tradeoffs across reliability, developer velocity, performance, security, and cost.
- Strong product intuition and attention to the developer experience created by platform systems.
- Comfort working across infrastructure and application code to solve problems completely.
- Experience mentoring engineers, sharing technical knowledge, and improving team practices.
- Experience with AWS, MongoDB, Postgres, Redis, or Node.js is a plus.
