Responsibilities
- Own metrics collection and ingestion end to end, from agents running on customer hosts and Kubernetes nodes to Sysdig backend processing.
- Solve performance, scalability, and correctness problems across the ingestion pipeline.
- Lead technical design for features spanning the agent and backend.
- Collaborate with product and design on specifications and timelines.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for urgent issues.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience with at least one of Rust, Go, or C/C++.
- Strong systems-programming background including Linux internals, processes, control groups, networking, and file I/O.
- Experience building performance-sensitive software that runs on customer infrastructure and is resource-bounded, robust to partial failures, and safe to run privileged.
- Familiarity with horizontally scalable services and/or event-driven architectures.
- Familiarity with observability tools and telemetry is highly desirable.
- Experience with eBPF, kernel-level instrumentation, container runtimes, Kubernetes, and cloud providers is a plus.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and contribute to technical and product discussions.
- Fluency in English.
