Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and analyze performance tests for web applications, BI reports and dashboards, and ETL/data models.
- Create JMeter load, stress, soak, and spike tests and custom Playwright/Python scripts for BI and ETL performance testing.
- Validate ETL pipeline and data-model performance, including job runtime, data-volume handling, transformation throughput, and downstream reporting impact.
- Assess BI performance, including report and dashboard load times, query response, concurrent-user load, and refresh or batch windows.
- Integrate performance tests into Azure DevOps pipelines with automated quality gates, reporting, and release-readiness checks.
- Identify bottlenecks, publish findings, and collaborate with development, QA, data, and operations teams.
- Participate in SAFe ceremonies and deliver against iteration and PI goals.
- Use GitHub Copilot and, where available, MCP to accelerate scripting, analysis, and documentation.
Requirements
- 4–8 years of experience in performance engineering or test automation with a strong performance focus.
- Strong Apache JMeter experience, including test plans, correlation, parameterization, assertions, distributed execution, and result analysis.
- Experience with Playwright, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Python for client-side, BI, and ETL performance scripting.
- Experience performance-testing web applications, BI tools, and ETL/data models.
- Azure DevOps experience with pipelines, CI/CD, test execution, and reporting.
- Working knowledge of SAFe and the ability to operate in Agile Release Trains.
- Understanding of HTTP/APIs, data flows, and performance metrics such as latency, throughput, error rate, concurrency, and job duration.
- Practical experience with GitHub Copilot; familiarity with MCP is a plus.
- Strong communication, root-cause analysis, and fast-learning abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred qualifications include deeper ETL or data-pipeline experience; familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, k6, Grafana, Datadog, Application Insights, other observability tools, and Azure cloud.
