Base Salary

$124k - $150k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain secure, scalable data pipelines and data architectures.
  • Develop software solutions, production code, algorithms, and architecture artifacts for complex applications.
  • Analyze large and diverse datasets and create visualizations and reporting to improve software applications and systems.
  • Update logical and physical data models for new use cases.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems, identify data patterns, and improve coding hygiene, architecture, performance, and operational stability.
  • Review enterprise data controls and support secure, high-quality data capabilities.
  • Use enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools for code generation, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation while validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and share reusable engineering and responsible AI usage patterns.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 2 years of applied experience.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including joins and aggregations, and working knowledge of NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with statistical data analysis, ETL processes, system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining AWS data pipelines using Python and PySpark, with Java as a secondary alternative.
  • Experience tuning performance to prevent bottlenecks and optimize job execution.
  • Proficiency with Unix scripting, JSON, AVRO, Protobuf, Parquet, Iceberg, batch or streaming data processing, and data modeling techniques such as Dimensional, Data Vault, Kimball, or Inmon.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, TDD or BDD, and Agile methodology.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and the ability to evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs.
  • Understanding of responsible AI practices, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
  • Preferred experience includes Python development, Kafka and S3 integration, Lambda, ECS, EKS, Kinesis, CloudWatch, Terraform, Snowflake, GitHub Copilot, Airflow, Kubernetes, and business-focused data analysis.
