Responsibilities
- Design and build core ML systems for production AI agents.
- Own the lifecycle from problem framing and data strategy through implementation, deployment, monitoring, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
- Build LLM-powered agent frameworks, RAG pipelines, workflow orchestration, evaluation systems, and feedback loops.
- Develop scalable, observable, explainable, and enterprise-ready machine learning model services.
- Partner with software engineers, product managers, and data scientists to integrate agents into the Workday platform.
- Apply agentic architecture techniques and technically lead teams while solving ambiguous problems.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience on data science, machine learning/AI engineering, or software development teams building applied machine learning products at scale through research, design, implementation, production, and production-based evaluation.
- At least 2 years of professional experience with machine learning and deep learning frameworks or toolkits such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
- At least 3 years of professional experience building production services that host machine learning models at scale.
- At least 1 year of demonstrated experience with LLMs, text generation models, and/or graph neural network models for real-world use cases.
- At least 3 years of experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or GCP.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or an equivalent qualification; a master’s degree or PhD is preferred.
- Deep understanding of statistical analysis, supervised and unsupervised machine learning, and natural language processing for information retrieval and/or recommendation systems.
- Experience independently solving ambiguous problems and technically leading teams.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating across teams and stakeholders.
Benefits
- Base pay range for the Vancouver primary location is $180,200 CAD–$270,200 CAD; the Canadian base pay range is $138,000–$208,000 CAD.
- May be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus and annual refresh stock grants.
