Responsibilities
- Deliver container runtimes for new cloud, on-premises, and edge-device environments.
- Build automation and establish standards for securely operating Kubernetes at scale with zero manual operations overhead.
- Adopt novel Kubernetes features and CNCF tools and contribute to upstream projects as needed.
- Design the next generation of Palantir’s infrastructure based on internal systems and CNCF standards.
- Ensure scale, stability, security, operational excellence, deep root-cause analysis, automation, and self-healing across the infrastructure fleet.
Requirements
- At least four years of professional software development experience focused on core infrastructure and operational excellence.
- At least two years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture of new and existing systems, including reliability and scaling.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Strong systems programming proficiency in Go, C/C++, or an equivalent language.
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Kubernetes operators, plus coding in Go, Java, or an equivalent language for automation or scripting.
- Familiarity with hardware and operating system configurations, diagnostic tooling, networking fundamentals, containers, and Kubernetes at scale.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCE, or with systems administration/SRE in data centers.
- Experience designing, building, and operating high-scale observability or infrastructure systems; CNI or cloud networking experience is preferred.
