Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly team goals while leading engineers through ambiguous, open-ended problems
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics on ideation, technical constraints, risks, and trade-offs
- Identify and lead resolution of project, process, technology, and business issues
- Support artifact operations and availability through metrics, escalation, keep-the-lights-on work, and on-call efforts
- Establish and improve code review and design standards and advocate for quality through writing and tech talks
- Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a software engineer
- Experience designing, developing, and launching scalable backend systems using technologies such as Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
- Experience shipping web applications with declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue
- Ability to use AI effectively to deliver high-quality products
- Experience defining technical plans for significant features or system components with simple, extensible designs
- Ability to make significant changes safely in large codebases using appropriate tools and practices
- Demonstrated ownership of professional growth and proactive feedback-seeking
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team
