Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable Python components with reliable error handling across scripting environments.
- Develop Python packaging, build automation, artifact generation, and secure publishing workflows using PyPI and Conda standards.
- Build PowerShell scripts and unit tests using Pester.
- Collaborate with development and CI/CD teams to automate artifact publishing and enforce compliance standards.
- Implement code-quality practices, test strategies, coverage gates, linting, and static typing.
- Manage SBOM generation, software composition analysis, CVE monitoring, vulnerability management, signed artifacts, and secure secrets integration.
- Harden CI/CD pipelines and base images while supporting observability through monitoring, logging, and alerting.
- Maintain documentation and troubleshoot packaging, dependency, and enterprise software distribution workflows.
Requirements
- 6–10 years of professional experience in software, DevOps, or related engineering work.
- Strong expertise in Python, PowerShell, and Bash or shell scripting.
- Experience with Anaconda, Miniconda, Conda package management, Python packaging standards, and build/configuration automation.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI and with Docker containerization.
- Understanding of build and deployment automation, observability, SBOMs, software licensing, vulnerability management, and secure CI/CD practices.
- Experience with security-focused code reviews, threat awareness, automated scanning, signed artifacts, secrets management, and pipeline or image hardening.
- Preferred experience includes scientific, engineering, regulated, security-focused, or enterprise software distribution environments.
- Preferred experience includes Pylint, Flake8, mypy, Windows process management, GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted development tools, and Jira in a SAFe environment.
- BTech degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
