Base Salary
$98k - $174k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build search index distribution infrastructure, including real-time streaming pipelines across thousands of nodes.
- Architect scalable and fault-tolerant pipelines supporting real-time and batch index distribution at global scale.
- Build automated cluster-management systems with health monitoring, alerting, self-healing, and remediation capabilities.
- Own distributed pipeline components from design through production while maintaining code quality, reliability, and scalability.
- Collaborate with Search Backend, Infrastructure, and partner teams to keep indexes fresh, consistent, and timely.
- Debug and troubleshoot pipeline failures, index delivery anomalies, and performance bottlenecks across large-scale infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience building production applications.
- Experience building backend distributed systems involving fault tolerance, consistency, replication, and concurrency.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed-systems fundamentals.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Scala, or similar programming languages.
- Hands-on experience with streaming and data pipeline technologies such as Kafka, Spark, or Flink.
- Experience with cluster coordination tools such as Zookeeper.
- Hands-on experience deploying and managing distributed services with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Lucene, Solr, Elasticsearch, or proprietary search engines.
Benefits
- Base pay range of $98,000–$173,600, with compensation varying by location, skills, and experience.

- Remote roles are not eligible for U.S. visa sponsorship.
