Responsibilities
- Design, develop, improve, and deliver scalable software and platform capabilities for business, platform, and technology users.
- Build, support, and scale cloud and on-premise infrastructure for front-office quantitative and strategy developers.
- Provide hands-on engineering leadership and guide the technical direction of the platform team.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, front-office developers, and other stakeholders to define requirements and solutions.
- Apply secure coding, unit testing, code review, risk management, and control practices.
- Support and grow a small engineering team through coaching, knowledge sharing, and technical guidance.
- Advise stakeholders and contribute to strategic, multi-year assignments and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Proven experience in software or data engineering, ideally in platform or infrastructure roles.
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Familiarity with Java is a plus.
- Deep experience with AWS services including S3, Glue, Kinesis, Lambda, ECS, IAM, KMS, API Gateway, Step Functions, MSK, and CloudFormation.
- Experience with on-premise Hadoop and Kubernetes is valued.
- Familiarity with AWS cost management and optimization tools and organizational constructs is valued.
- Knowledge of how quantitative or front-office developers operate is a strong plus.
- Ability to provide hands-on technical leadership, guide team members, and engage effectively with internal stakeholders.
- Understanding of risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital and technology is relevant to assessment.
