Base Salary
$95k - $139k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, code, implement, and test embedded software for unmanned aircraft devices and systems.
- Write software supporting the integration of sensors, processors, autopilots, payloads, radios, and other aircraft components.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and isolate software issues using equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.
- Conduct device testing in flight-test environments and develop test procedures to verify embedded system functionality.
- Read electrical schematics and collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and other engineering disciplines.
- Participate in design and peer reviews while maintaining software quality and configuration-control practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, or a related field.
- 0–3 years of experience developing embedded software for real-time systems.
- Experience with real-time operating systems, preferably VxWorks or FreeRTOS.
- Proficiency in C/C++ in a real-time embedded environment.
- Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, CAN bus, SPI, and serial protocols such as RS485.
- Experience writing firmware or embedded code for physical devices and fundamental knowledge of low-level firmware.
- Experience reading electrical hardware schematics and using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers for board debugging.
- Ability to develop and perform tests and test procedures and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
